The biggest misconception that we in the pro-life movement must fight is the idea that we are fighting a never-ending battle. Many have resigned themselves to the idea that we must fight abortion, one crisis pregnancy at a time, and find the courage to go on by moments of beauty in their day-to-day work. While this work is infinitely valuable, let us remember one thing: We’re not here to fight a battle. We’re here to win a war of ideas. We’re here to end the killing.
It is not unusual to encounter protestors while participating in "Choice" Chain, but it is unusual to meet ones passionate enough to stick around and disrupt it for hours on end.
On Saturday, January 28th, 2012, Campaign Life Coalition Youth did their first-ever "Choice" Chain demonstration on the streets of Toronto. Fifteen young pro-lifers courageously stood on the busy corner of Yonge and College streets in Downtown Toronto, depicting the reality of abortion to pedestrians and cars alike.
There is a quote I’ve placed above my desk by William Arthur Ward which captures the spirit of this week’s beINSPIRED hero, Erin Gruwell: “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
