ANTI-ABORTION GROUP CONFRONTS CALGARY MP MICHELLE REMPEL
Calgary, AB. Calgary Centre-North MP, Michelle Rempel, is coming under fire from a national anti-abortion group which says she “failed the children.” Rempel is the second of five politicians at the heart of the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform’s (CCBR) controversial “Face the Children” campaign, which involves circulating tens of thousands of graphic postcards in a politician’s riding. The announcement that CCBR is targeting Rempel follows on the heels of a sweeping postcard distribution last week in Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Riding.
A woman who has betrayed the feminist movement—who supports treating one’s pre-born offspring as objects the way men once treated women—has ironically pointed the finger at another woman, blaming her for something she herself is guilty of. Today, in an Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada press release, abortion supporter Joyce Arthur claims MP Rona Ambrose is guilty of throwing “women under the bus.”
Today, the New Abortion Caravan hits Kelowna after a week in Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Langley, Aldergrove, and Chilliwack.
There has been a steady stream of testimonies of changed hearts and minds since Tuesday when the tour began. One of our interns even bumped into someone, while dropping off our graphic postcards, who informed him that he’d just changed his mind on abortion because he walked past “Choice” Chain.
The month of March saw heavy debate on Canadian university campuses about abortion. In total, CCBR participated in seven debates in B.C, Alberta and Ontario, along with a handful of other presentations on campuses. Unfortunately, several debates didn’t happen, or in one case almost didn’t happen, because of a lack of a candidate willing to defend the pro-choice worldview.
