Although Cristina was raised pro-life, she didn’t get involved in pro-life activism until her first year at the University of Calgary (UofC). She attended apologetics training presented by CCBR’s Jojo Ruba which equipped her with the knowledge to defend the pro-life view. She recalls that one of the things that stood out from that presentation was the graphic video of an abortion.
When the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) exhibit was brought to the University that semester, she wanted to get involved. However, she was terrified at the prospect due to her fear of speaking in public. This prevented her from dialoguing about abortion with passersby. Upon realizing that this discomfort is insignificant compared to the pre-born being slaughtered through the act of abortion, she decided she would make their voices heard.
Since then, she has done GAP 11 times at various universities in Canada and the United States. In April 2010, she was one of the students charged by the UofC with Non-Academic Misconduct. She has also done “Choice” Chain numerous times in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Lethbridge among other cities. This past summer, she completed CCBR’s summer internship program.
Cristina is the Office Administrator for the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform
