To Whom It May Concern:
Greetings!
Stephanie Gray, Director of the Canadian Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, came to speak to the student body of Bethlehem Catholic High School, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on 20 Novermber 2008. Her talk was amazing, to say the least, and I myself preached on it on the following Sunday, November 23.
Stephanie used pictures to make her point: Just as a graphic photograph sparked the civil rights movement in the United States, just as a graphic photograph gave impetus to the movement against drunk drivers, so too will pictures of abortions one day bring about protection for the unborn by "unmasking choice." We all need to see the horrific reality of what abortion really is.
Stephanie's two or three slides depicting the gruesomeness of abortion, while not overly shocking, nevertheless produced the desired effects. Below is a comment made about Stephanie by one of our students:
Our guest speaker today has changed my life forever. Before the assembly, I knew about abortions, but not about how gruesome and cruel they were. The woman really made me see that a fetus is really still a human, and killing a human is never justified, even if the human is unborn. I am a faithful Catholic, but sometimes I wavered when it came to being pro-life. Up until today I though that it should be a personal choice for the pregnant woman. Now I know that abortion is not like choosing your favorite soda. It is a moral choice. Abortion is a choice of life and death, a choice of murdering or keeping an innocent life alive.
If this were the only positive effect Stephanie Gray's visit had (and I am quite sure it was not), her coming to us would have been more than worth it. Who knows what this one student will accomplish for the Pro-Life cause because of her?
I have given the appropriate contact information to our neighbor, Allentown Central Catholic High School, with the strong suggestion that Stephanie be invited to speak to the student body there also.
May God bless the Canadian Center for Bio-Ethical Reform and their wonderful work! Keep it up, Stephanie!
Yours in Christ,
